DAYTON, Ohio - The University of Dayton women's track and field team will compete at the 2016 Atlantic 10 Outdoor Championships Saturday, May 7 and Sunday, May 8.
The competition will take place at George Mason Stadium in Fairfax, Va. Events begin Saturday at 11 a.m. and finish up around 8 p.m. The meet continues Sunday at 9:30 a.m. and is expected to end around 3:30 p.m. with the award ceremony following the final event.
Dayton is coming off a strong outdoor campaign with seven Top 5 finishes and numerous personal records. That followed a successful indoor season, with a sixth-place finish in the 2016 A-10 Indoor Championships. The Flyers have competed against some of the top programs in the nation and are heading into the conference motivated and confident.
Last season, Dayton finished third at the 2015 A-10 Outdoor Championships and had numerous athletes place in the top five of their event, including a pair of conference champions.
Jenni Rossi placed first in the shot put and will be looking to defend her title this season.
