CINCINNATI  – The University of Dayton women's track and field team had a solid first day at the All-Ohio Championships hosted by University of Cincinnati.

Erin Reese broke UD's all-time record in the hammer throw, previously held by two-time All-American Mallory Barnes. Reese's mark of 60.05 is the best in the Atlantic 10 this season. Reese also holds the Dayton record in the discus.

Leah Frischmann took third place in the pole vault with a season-best mark of 3.75m, which is also the best mark so far in the A-10 this season.

Sarah Sepanski took first place in the shot put and 200-meter dash, as well as second in the 100-meter hurdles and is currently in fourth place in the heptathlon with three more events to complete (long jump, javelin, 800-meter run).

SATURDAY: FC Cincinnati (USL division soccer) plays its home opener at 7 p.m. at Nippert Stadium and expecting more than 20,000 fans for the match. Garages open for parking/tailgating for FCC at 3 p.m. (midway through running events). Parking will increase from $5 for the track meet to $10 for FCC. Â
