NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – University of Dayton freshman Jahmia Bridges-Butler was named the Atlantic 10 Women's Track Co-Rookie of the Week for her first collegiate performance at the Ohio State Buckeye Classic Jan. 5.
Bridges-Butler ran the third-fastest time in UD program history in the 60-meter hurdles, taking third place in a time of 8.83. She improved on her PR time from the prelims. She also ran the 60-meter dash, improving on her prelim time in the finals, to pick up another PR.
She shared the A-10 Rookie of the Week honor with George Mason's GJaudy John-Wallace.
The Flyers will compete with a full squad at the Kentucky Invitational next Friday and Saturday, Jan. 12-13 at the Nutter Field House in Lexington, Ky.
