DAYTON – University of Dayton junior forward
Jhery Matos is out for the season after being diagnosed with two torn ligaments in his left foot. Matos suffered the injury in Dayton's final game against Oklahoma at the Battle4Atlantis and further examination revealed the need for season-ending surgery.
Matos played in the year's first six games, coming off the bench to play 19.5 minutes per game and average 3.7 points and 3.2 rebounds. A 2017-18 junior college All-American from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, he will be eligible to apply for a medical redshirt season.
Dayton hosts Detroit Mercy Tuesday at 7 p.m. ET.
