#Flyboys Notes
- Mitchell Garrity recorded a hit in each of Dayton's four games last week, including a pair of multi-hit performances that saw him hit both his first career home run and triple.
- Garrity raised his batting average by 33 points last week alone from .244 to .277
- Michael Cleary and Connor Echols also earned base hits in all three games against VCU over the weekend.
- Cleary got the starting nod in all four games last week in right field. The freshman from Cincinnati, Ohio had two career starts entering the week.
- Pat Meehan stayed steady as the team's offensive leader in several categories, as Meehan still has the best marks on the team in batting average (.314), home runs (6), RBIs (23), doubles (10), runs scored (19) and slugging percentage (.588)
- Aaron Ernst threw a complete game against VCU on Sunday in Dayton's 6-1 win. Ernst allowed just one run off five hits, while walking just one Rams' batter in just his second career start.
- Ernst's complete game was Dayton's second of the season, as Austin Cline threw one earlier in the season on March 17 against Ball State in a shutout effort, which earned him an Atlantic 10 Player of the Week Award.
- Justin Longbrake threw two scoreless innings of reliefs in two appearances against Virginia Tech and VCU, bringing his team-best ERA down to 3.71.
- Tyler Jones made his first start of the season this week and pitched deep into the seventh inning, but was saddled with an additional three earned runs charged to his ERA due to a questionable call giving an infield hit to the VCU batter despite an errant throw on the play that would have resulted in the third out of the inning.
