PURDUE INVITE DRAWS

The Purdue Invitational opened on Friday and Dayton men's tennis get several strong performances on day one. Action will continue at 8 a.m. on Saturday morning with two rounds of doubles and one round of singles slated for day two.

Freshman Matt DeMarco, freshman Oliver Dunne and juior Jayman Jhattu won two matches apiece to advance to each of their flight's semifinals in singles play. Junior Peter Schulteis also earned a spot in the semifinals with a first round bye followed by a 6-3, 6-4 win over Purdue Northwest's Mauricio Villacres.

Dayton also earned a pair of wins in doubles play with Oliver Dunne and Will Harper winning 6-3 over Alfonso Martinez and Andres Martinez from Olivet Nazarene, while Steven Karl and Georgi Mavrodiev defeated Michael Lee and Jan Vrba of Xavier by a score of 6-1.
