DAYTON – The University of Dayton women will compete at the 2019 Atlantic 10 Indoor Track and Field Championships in Fairfax, Va. this Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 23-24. The championship will be hosted by George Mason at the Mason Fieldhouse.
Action begins Saturday morning with the pentathlon at 9 a.m. ET. The first field event is the pole vault at 1 p.m. The evening closes out with the distance medley relay at 6:05 p.m.
Sunday's first event is shot put at 10 a.m. The first running event on Sunday will be the mile at noon. The championship will close out with the 4x400m relay at 3:40 p.m. and the awards ceremony will be held at 4:15 p.m.
Senior
Taylor Vernot won gold in the 3,000-meter run with a PR time of 9:40.89, second-best all-time at Dayton, at last year's A-10 Indoor Championship hosted by Rhode Island. Vernot also broke Dayton's 5,000m record in a time of 16:40.21 for a third-place finish at the A-10 Championship.
Senior
Emily Borchers has since broken that 5k mark with a time of 16:39.17 to win the event at the SPIRE Invitational this year. At A-10s last year, Borchers was third in the 3,000-meter run in a time of 9:47.15 and finished second in the mile in a time of 4:54.37.
Senior
Alyssa Ramstetter made the podium in the weight throw with a PR mark of 17.33m for third place.
