DAYTON – The University of Dayton track and field team will compete in the Spire Invitational this weekend, February 8-9. The competition will take place in Geneva, Ohio at the Spire Institute.

This meet is the final competition for the Flyers before the Atlantic 10 Indoor Track and Field Championships to be hosted by George Mason University on Feb. 23-24 in Fairfax, VA.

The action begins Friday, Feb. 8 at 2 p.m. with the women's pentathlon and weight throw.
The competition continues throughout the afternoon and early evening Friday with the women's pole vault set for 5 p.m., the DMR set for 7:10 p.m., and the women's 5000m race scheduled for 7:40 p.m.

The competition continues Saturday, Feb. 9 beginning at 10 a.m. with the women's shot put. Running events begin on Saturday at 11 a.m. with a rolling schedule following. Finals for the 60m hurdles and 60m dash will begin at approximately 2 p.m. on Saturday. The Elite sections for the women's 3000m and the mile will be held at 3:20 and 4:05 p.m., respectively.
