AMHERST, Mass. – The University of Dayton track and field team is currently in second place in the team standings after closing out day one of the 2019 Atlantic 10 Track and Field Championships with two individual champions, three Top 5 UD marks, and eight personal records.
Head Coach Jason Ordway's Quote:
"We had a fantastic first day of competition.Â
Emily Borchers won the steeplechase in a new school-record time for the second year in a row. Her teammates,
Allison Triskett and
Kelly Wilker, also scored in the sixth and eighth place spots.
Alyssa Ramstetter pulled through big for us in the hammer throw, also being crowned conference champion.
Colleen Campbell got all conference honors in the pole vault and
Taylor Vernot scored big for us on the 10k. We also went 4-5 in the high jump to round out our day. Heading out of day one in second place is a strong opening for us. We'll be looking to add to our score in a few more finals tomorrow."
