NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The University of Dayton women's cross country team was picked to finish second in the Atlantic 10 as voted upon by the league's 14 head coaches.

"Our women are very determined this season to continue the successful run we have made in the conference the past several years. Many of our current student-athletes had the opportunity to work closely with, and learn from, the strong class of recent graduates from last year's team," said head coach

"Adding to that culture is a fantastic group of freshmen who are hungry to compete and bring a new positive energy to our experienced and close-knit squad," he added. "We've had a great summer of work and now we're ready to start racing and getting into some tougher workouts to prepare for the A-10 Championships."
