DAYTON – The University of Dayton track and field team is set to compete this Friday and Saturday at the Akron Invitational at the Stiles Athletics Field House.
The teams include: Akron, Ashland, Ball State, Bowling Green, Buffalo, Cleveland State, Dayton, Grand Valley State, John Carroll, Kent State, Lake Erie, Malone, Mount St. Mary's, Saint Francis, Shawnee State, Toledo, Walsh, West Virginia, Western Michigan, Youngstown State, and competitors from Canadian universities as well.
Dayton has 30 student-athletes traveling to Akron for the meet.
The first event Friday for the Flyers is the pole vault at 4 p.m. UD will also have competitors in the pentathlon and the long jump on the first day. The final event on the first day is the 5000-meter run at 9:10 p.m.
A full day of events begins Saturday at 10:15 a.m. with the 3,000-meter run. The meet concludes with the 4x400 relay at 5:50 p.m.
