BRYAN, Texas – University of Dayton baseball players

Cole Pletka are in Bryan, Texas this weekend to participate in the Collegiate Baseball Showcase Invitational.
The Collegiate Summer Baseball Invitational (CSBI) is an invitation-only, four-team regional tournament that will feature players from all over the country. Â Each team will play in a round-robin tournament June 4-6. Â All six games of the event will be played at Travis Field, the home of the Brazos Valley Bombers of the Texas Collegiate League.
The doubleheader that will be played on Thursday will be televised on ESPN2 beginning at 7 p.m. ET. The final two days of the tournament will be available via pay-per-view subscription on CSBI2020.com, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting No Kid Hungry.
Tirotta, a 6-foot-3, 195-pound junior third baseman from South Bend, Ind., was one of five Flyers named preseason All-Atlantic 10 by Collegiate Baseball. Â He led the Flyers in RBI last season with 41, while hitting five home runs and batting .260 with an on-base percentage of .351. Â He stole a team-high 18 bases in 20 attempts.
Pletka is a 6-foot-8, 230-pound senior right-handed pitcher from Richmond, Texas. Â Last season he was 4-3 with a 4.79 ERA. Â He struck out 81 batters in 56.1 innings. Â He came on in Atlantic 10 play in 2019, with a 2.19 ERA, holding opponents to a .176 batting average and striking out 31 hitters in 24.2 innings pitched.
Dayton was 32-23-1 last season, and reached the finals of the 2019 A-10 tournament before dropping an extra-inning decision to Fordham in coach
Jayson King's second season at UD. Â The Flyers were picked to finish third in the Atlantic 10 for the 2020 season, and received three first-place votes.
