DAYTON – The University of Dayton men's tennis team went undefeated at home in 2021 on the way to a 13-6 overall record and the two seed in the Atlantic 10 Championship, the best ranking for the program since 2005.
 
Dayton went 11-0 at home this season, with two of those wins coming against Atlantic 10 opponents.
 
After dropping the first four matches of the season to Louisville and Kentucky, both of whom finished the season as two of the ITA Top 75 National Teams, UD rattled off wins in 12 of 13 of the team's final regular season matches to enter the postseason 12-5.
 
Seven of the team's 13 victories came as either 4-0 or 7-0 victories, and the Flyers rode a seven-match winning streak into the Atlantic 10 Championship, and defeated Saint Louis in the Atlantic 10 Quarterfinals before falling to No. 3 Richmond in the semifinals.
 
2021 Highlights and Awards:
- Sophomore Connor Bruce led the Flyers with a 14-4 record. Every win came in the top singles flight, marking the highest win total in No. 1 singles since Jordan Benjamin went 15-5 in 2018. The sophomore won all matches against Atlantic 10 opponents and won each of his last nine matches of the season.
- Bruce paired with fellow sophomore Max DeCurtins for nine wins in doubles play to lead the Flyers as well, all of which came in the No. 1 doubles flight.
- Eight different Flyers finished above .500 in singles play this season, with seniors Steven Karl and Will Harper and sophomore Matt DeMarco each finishing with eight wins on the season.
- Three different Flyers posted a career high in singles victories this season, and Dayton went 60-32 in singles flights in 2021.
- In the team's 11 home victories, the Flyers took 64 of the 74 possible points from opponents.
- The Flyers made the Atlantic 10 Semifinals for the fifth-straight season in which it has been held after the 2020 Atlantic 10 Championship was canceled due to COVID-19.
- Head Coach Ryan Meyer the 100th victory of his coaching career.
