NEWPORT NEWS, VA – The Atlantic 10 Conference released it's weekly awards on Tuesday afternoon, and following the Flyers' first meet of the indoor season, Chante Clinkscale has been named the conference's Women's Rookie Performer of the Week.
 
The freshman from Warren, Ohio shined brightly in her first meet as a Flyer, re-writing the Dayton record books in the 60m dash, and posting a second-best finish ever in the Atlantic 10 in the event with a finals time of 7.43. Following a 7.44 in the prelims, Clinkscale ran a 7.46 in the semis, and won the event with a new record 7.43. The freshman now holds the top three times in the 60m dash in Dayton history.
 
The Flyers will return to action on Friday, as they head to Bloomington, Indiana for the Gladstein Invitational.
