Dayton Freshman Earns Honor for Second Time This Season

NEWPORT NEWS, VA – The Atlantic 10 Conference released it's weekly awards for track and field on Wednesday, and Dayton freshman Chante' Clinkscale was named the women's Freshman Track Athlete of the Week.

The Warren, Ohio native earns the award for the second time this season, following another record-setting performance at the Doug Raymond Invitational last weekend at Kent State University. Clinkscale started the event out setting a new Dayton record in the 200m, beating her own record of 24.54 with an event-winning time of 24.23. The freshman came back on Saturday and won her second event of the meet, coming out on top overall in the 60m race, finishing with a UD top-five all-time mark of 7.47.

Clinkscale and the Flyers will return to action this weekend, as they will be at the University of Findlay for the Flag City Open, beginning Friday, Feb. 18.
