NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Atlantic 10 Conference released it's list of weekly awards winners on Wednesday, and for the second time this outdoor season, Chante Clinkscale was named the conference's Rookie Performer of the Week.
 
The freshman from Warren, Ohio earned the honor once again for a dominating performance turned in over the weekend at the Indiana Invitational, where she started things off on Friday by finishing eighth overall in the 200m race, with her 24.08 second time was just eight hundredths of a second shy of her season best of 24 seconds flat. Clinkscale would come back on day two and win the 100m race in a time of 11.47 seconds, again just missing her own season-best time that leads the Atlantic 10 (11.41).
 
The freshman will look to keep her momentum strong heading into next weekend, when the Flyers travel to Richmond, Va. for the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track and Field Championships, May 7-8.
