DAYTON – The University of Dayton women's track and field team will head to Richmond, Va. on Thursday to begin competition in the 2022 Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday and Sunday. The Flyers have been diligently preparing since their last meet on Apr. 22-23, where they competed at the Indiana Invitational. In that final meet of regular season competition, two Flyers set new UD records, and several new personal best marks were also set.

Because of her performance in Bloomington, Ind., freshman
Chante Clinkscale was named the Atlantic 10 Rookie Performer of the Week for the second time this outdoor season, winning the 100m with a 11.47 second time, just six hundredths of a second behind her school and Atlantic 10 record time of 11.41. She would also finish eighth overall in the 200m race with a time of 24.08 seconds. Fellow freshman
Kaira Granger also had a strong showing in the Hoosier state, placing 10
th in the 200m, and also setting a new personal best in the 100m with a time of 11.83 seconds. On the distance side,Â
Lainey Studebaker set a new Dayton record in the 1500m race, finishing ninth overall with a time of 4:20.99, which ranks her first in the Atlantic 10 this outdoor season. In the field events Saturday, Christierra Williams set the second UD record of the meet for the Flyers, as she placed seventh in the triple jump with a jump of 12.09m.Â
Carolyn Bakx also set a new personal best in the pole vault, finishing 17
th overall with a 3.57m mark.
