NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Atlantic 10 Conference recognized
Casey Bogues as the field athlete of the week after her school-record-setting javelin performance at the Texas Relays on Friday, March 31.
The Red Bank, N.J. native finished in fourth place and set a PR with her 53.80m javelin throw. Bogues set the new best mark in University of Dayton history for javelin, which she had previously set in June 2021 at 53.39m at the NCAA Championships.
Bogues' 53.80m throw is ranked in the top five in the NCAA East Region and in the top 12 across the nation.
Her javelin throw is the best mark in the A-10, which breaks her previous conference-leading mark of 46.86m.
Track and field will be competing in the Tennessee Invite this Thursday through Saturday in Knoxville, Tennessee.
