DAYTON – The University of Dayton men's tennis team completed a successful first day of the 2023 James O'Connell Memorial Tournament Friday at the Graul Tennis Complex.
 
The Flyers played host to Ball State, Northern Kentucky and Xavier and will finish the tournament Saturday, Sept. 15 with the first match starting at 8:45 a.m.

Freshmen Kyle McNally, Mikkel Zinder and Eric Suk each earned their first collegiate victories, winning at No. 3, No. 4, and No. 7, respectively, against Xavier. Fellow freshman Luis Saraiva earned his first win at No. 3 singles against Northern Kentucky.

Familiar faces Connor Bruce, Matt DeMarco, Erik Eliasson, Ronit Hiryur and Sai Dore all earned at least one victory on the day.

Newcomer Nikola Puric teamed with Connor Bruce to bring home victory at No. 1 doubles against Ball State.
