HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The University of Dayton track and field team finished out a two-day meet at the Marshall Invitational that showcased the Flyers' relentlessness. They set 18 PRs, had four first-place finishes, and even a new school record in their last full meet before the A-10 Indoor Championships.
HIGHLIGHTS
- The Flyers won the first race at the Marshall Invitational in the DMR. Sammie Wells, Grace Felts, Abby Carter and Bryn Hothem ran 12:11.25.
- Freshman Olivia Kindbom, in her 5000m collegiate debut, finished in third while running a personal best 18:23.38.
- Rebekah Conrad finished fourth (16.84m) in the weight throw, and it was another weekend where Jillian Yates threw a personal best (15.94m).
- Raegan Ernst qualified for the 60m hurdles finals with a PR time of 9.05 seconds while taking sixth place.
- Jayla Pruitt and Jailee Clemmons both finished in the top five in the long jump. Pruitt took second place with a 5.38m jump and Clemmons landed in fourth with a 5.28m jump.
- Pruitt and Christierra Cici Williams took first and second place in the triple jump with 11.53m and 11.39m jumps, respectively.
- Grace Homan won the shot put with her 14.01m put. Homan has finished in first place twice this season for the shot put, and has earned top-five marks in every shot put event so far.
- Abby Carter set a PR for the one-mile run for a third-straight performance with a 4:50.87 time while finishing in first place. Carter finished seven seconds ahead of her closest competitor, and she improved her fourth-best mile time in school history.
- Anna Kessler took third place and set a PR in the 60m dash finals with a 7.64 second finish.
- Rayana Burns raced into the record books with a 25.06 second 200m dash PR, which is the fourth-best time in UD history. She finished in third place in the event.
- The Flyers' 4x400m relay squad (Lauren Santiago, Lianna Shakoor, Rayana Burns, and Kendall Johnson) set the school record for the race when they took third place with a time of 3:51.57.

"I believe our performances this weekend are a great indicator of the success we will have at A-10s in two weeks," shared Associate Head Coach
Aaron Gordon. "We were able to go out and execute our race strategies effectively and efficiently. We look forward to getting back to training before heading to Virginia Beach."
