Bogues Shines At US Olympic Trials

The Junior Finished 8th In Qualifying

DAYTON – University of Dayton student athlete Casey Bogues competed this past weekend in the 2024 US Olympic trials in Oregon.

Competing against the top American athletes in her field event, the junior set a personal best and showed that she belonged on the big stage. She placed fourth in qualifying after day one and eighth on the final day. Her new PR of 57.41 shattered her own previous school record.

"I am very proud of Casey and how she competed at Olympic Trials," said Dayton Throws Coach Kevin Gilhuly. "She gave it her all against the best of the best and came out huge on the qualification day with a massive personal record and new school record. She came out one the final day with a big throw to ensure she made the top 8 to get 3 more throws. Having her finishing 8th is a huge accomplishment and she is excited about her performance. With some time off we are going to be ready to get back to work for next year."

Bogues finishes up another historic season, winning her third A-10 championship as well as other accolades including Honorable Mention All-American at the NCAA outdoor championships. She also has set the record for any New Jersey native.

She will return for her senior season next fall.
