DAYTON - University of Dayton track and field will return to action this Friday and Saturday. On Friday afternoon in Bowling Green, Ohio throwers will compete at Perry Field House on the campus of Bowling Green State University for the Falcon Early Bird Open. Saturday morning, UD sprinters and jumpers will start 2025 in Ann Arbor, Michigan for the Wolverine Invitational hosted by the University of Michigan.

LAST TIME OUT
On December 7, the Flyers competed at the Wittenberg Tiger Opener in Springfield, Ohio. Mariya Washington and Grace Felts finished second and third in the 300 meters. Washington recorded her first official time in the event at 42.05 and Felts set a new PR of 43.04. Jailee Clemmons grabbed second place in the long jump (5.36m) and Lianna Shakoor placed third in the 60-meter dash running a personal best 7.86. It was a historic day for the 4x200-meter team of Anna Kessler, Jadyn Haywood, Lianna Shakoor and Sydney Workman, who ran the second-fasted indoor time in school history at 1:40.86 and finished first.
FLYERS IN ACTION
On Friday, the Flyers will compete in the weight throw and shot put at the Falcon Early Bird Open. Last year at BGSU, Rebekah Conrad threw a personal best in the weight throw (16.27m) and claimed third. Anna Yater finished fourth and Jillian Yates threw a personal best (14.98m) to finish fifth. Addie Ryan will be making her collegiate debut in both events.
On Saturday, 27 athletes are listed to compete at the Wolverine Invitational. Last year, Jayla Pruitt won the triple jump at Michigan with a PR of 11.86m, which tied the school record set by Maddi Schmidt in 2013. Jadyn Haywood looks to have another big year at Michigan, last season she finished second in both the 60m (7.55) and the 200m (24.69), where she was the highest finishing collegian in both races.
