Men's Tennis' Sai Dore Named Academic All-American

The Springboro Native Becomes The First UD Men's Tennis Academic All-American Since 2005

AUSTIN, Texas – University of Dayton men's tennis junior Sai Dore was named to the Academic All-American Third Team by the College Sports Communicators (CSC) on Tuesday afternoon, becoming the first Flyer to earn the distinction in 20 years.

Dore, who earned his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Dayton in only three years and held a 3.91 GPA, was a mainstay in the Flyers' lineup at No. 3 singles, going 12-5 in dual play, and also went 15-4 at No. 2 doubles during the spring campaign.

The Springboro native becomes the first Flyer men's tennis player to earn Academic All-American distinction since Rob Altenau in 2005, and is just the fourth UD men's tennis player to be tabbed with the honor.

Academic All-American is a title reserved for college student-athletes who perform at an elite level in their chosen sport and in the classroom. Outstanding student-athletes are nominated for Academic All-District® recognition by communications directors and must have a minimum 3.50 GPA and meet high athletic standards.
