DAYTON – Redshirt freshman forward Malcolm Thomas is set to join the Dayton men's basketball team for the 2025-26 campaign, head coach
Anthony Grant announced today.
Thomas, who redshirted his freshman season at Villanova, joins the Flyers with four years of eligibility remaining.
In his senior season at DeMatha Catholic High School, Thomas averaged 14.5 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.7 blocks per contest. He was ranked as the No. 3 player from the state of Maryland as a senior, and was the No. 40 power forward nationally.
Thomas's father, Etan Thomas, played collegiately at Syracuse and was the No. 12 pick in the 2000 NBA Draft. He went on to play nine seasons in the League with the Washington Wizards, Oklahoma City Thunder, and Atlanta Hawks.
Thomas joins fellow newcomers
Adam Njie,
Bryce Heard,
De'Shayne Montgomery, and
Jordan Derkack as part of the 2025-26 recruiting class that the Flyers already have on campus in preparation for the season.
