#UDTF Ready For A-10 Indoor Championships

The Flyers Arrive In Virginia Beach Ahead Of The Two Day Championships

DAYTON—The University of Dayton track and field team reaches the pinnacle of its indoor season this weekend as it travels to Virginia Beach, Virginia, for the Atlantic Ten championships. The Flyers look to improve on their seventh-place finish from last year's championships and put a cap on a strong 2025-26 indoor campaign.
 
START TIME
  • The meet kicks off on Friday at 9:20 a.m. with the pentathlon 60m hurdles. The first field event will be the weight throw at 1 p.m. Running events will get started at 1:15 p.m. with the 60m hurdle prelims.
  • Saturday's field events start with the shot put at 10 a.m. Action on the track will begin at 11:10 a.m. with the mile.

SEASON HIGHLIGHTS
  • The 4x400m school record fell three different times this season. The record currently stands at 3:47.58, which was set by the team of Mariya Washington, Sydney Workman, Grace Felts, and Simone Bessong at the Fairgrounds Invitational. The 4x200m record was also broken at the first meet of the season when Workman, Jadyn haywood, Bessong, and Charlotte Deines ran 1:38.94 at the Tiger Opener.
  • Senior Rebekah Conrad had a strong season, winning three times in the weight throw while also recording a new personal best of 18.55m in the event. She was named A-10 Field Performer of the Week on January 13.
  • Senior Jadyn Haywood impressed in the final indoor season of her historic Flyer career. She recorded three wins in the 60m and the 200m out of five total top-three finishes. The Dayton native broke the school record in the 200m twice, with her current mark standing at 23.96. She also broke the school record in the 60m dash, with a time of 7.42. Haywood earned A-10 Track Performer of the Week honors on Feburary 10th.
  • Freshman Simone Bessong's debut indoor season was one for the record books. She earned her first collegiate win in the 200m at the Wolverine Invitational, and finished the season sitting at 3rd all-time in both the 200m and 400m. Bessong was named as the A-10 Rookie of the Week three times throughout the season.
  • Senior Raegan Ernst set a pair of school records this season. At the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational, Ernst had a historic performance in the pentathlon, setting a school record for total points while setting a personal record in every individual event as she finished second. She also set a school record of 8.56 in the 60m hurdles at the Fairgrounds Invitational.
  • Sophomore Mia Gill emerged as a middle-distance star this season, especially in the 800m. Gill earned her first collegiate win at the distance at the Wittenberg Invitational, running the second-fastest time in school history of 2:13.62. This performance beat her previous PR of 2:14.65 at the Fairgrounds Invitational, where she grabbed a third place finish.
 
FLYERS IN ACTION
Several athletes enter the weekend with podium ambitions. In the sprint events, Jadyn Haywood and Simone Bessong enter ranked as the top two runners in the 200m and are seeded second and third in the 60m. Sydney Workman will compete in the 400m with the 12th fastest time in the conference this season.
 
In the 800m, Mia Gill is seeded 12th in the conference this season. Marissa Pritchett will compete in the 5k with the 14th fastest mark in the A-10.
 
The 60m Hurdles will feature Raegan Ernst and Jameson Pillifant who enter both ranked in the top four of the conference.
 
Every Flyer competing in the pentathlon is ranked in the top 12 of the conference. Ernst is seeded second, Mia Malito is ranked ninth, and Sophia Goluba and Evelyn Albers are 11th and 12th respectively.
 
The 4x400m team of Workman, Mariya Washington, Grace Felts, and Bessong enter the competition with the third fastest time in the conference after breaking the school record in Indianapolis.
 
In the field events, Camryn Thompson enters the high jump as the top seeded athlete while Riley Yost sits in fifth. Rebekah Conrad is an athlete to watch in the throwing events as she is ranked second in the weight throw and sixth in the shot put.
