DAYTON – The University of Dayton women's soccer team wraps its four-match home stand this week as it is set to host nearby foe Wright State at Bajuan Field on Thursday night at 7 p.m.
 
LAST TIME OUT
A three-goal flurry in a seven-minute span from Louisville downed the Flyers at home last Thursday, 4-2.
 
Junior Liv Grenda kicked off the scoring for Dayton with her first goal of the season in the 22nd minute of action. Late into the second half, freshman Reese Gallagher scored her first collegiate goal off of an assist by goalkeeper Avery Strohecker, marking the Flyers first goalie assist since 2009.
 
FAMILIAR FACES
UD graduate student Elise Canter has taken part of the Dayton-Wright State rivalry on the pitch, playing three seasons at WSU prior to joining the Flyers.
 
Canter has played two games at Bajaun as a member of the Raiders, playing over 100 minutes, registering four shots and one on-goal. In her last season as a Raider, Canter played in 17 matches, starting in each one and was named Second Team All-Horizon League.
 
AGAINST THE RAIDERS
Dayton is 26-5-4 against Wright State all-time, in a series that began in Dayton's first season as a program in 1985. Despite the long history, the Flyers have only faced the Raiders five times (including Thursday night) in the last decade, winning each of the most recent four after a gap in play from 2016-2022.

FLYER LEGACY - 30 YEARS IN THE MAKING
2026 marks two milestones for the UD women's soccer program, most notably it is the 30th anniversary of the first championship in program history.
 
The 1996 Flyers, in just their second year in the Atlantic 10, defeated La Salle (3-1), Fordham (1-0), and Rhode Island (0-0, 5-4 PKs) to lead UD to its inaugural championship.
 
Fast forward to present day - no other A10 program matches Dayton when it comes to league titles, leading the conference in both regular season (12) and tournament championships (11).
 
It is also the 10th anniversary of the 2016 Atlantic 10 Tournament Championship, one of the most improbable titles in program history.
 
UD entered the 2016 Atlantic 10 Tournament as the No. 7 seed and proceeded to go on one of the most dominating runs to a championship the A10 has ever seen.
 
The Flyers defeated No. 2 Saint Louis 3-0 to open the tournament thanks to goals from Beth Kamphaus, Alexis Kiehl, and Libby Leedom. They then took down No. 6 seed George Washington with Kiehl adding two more goals, and then dominated No. 1 seed Saint Joseph's 7-0 in the championship final. Leedom had a hat trick in the final, while Kiehl added two goals, and Kamphaus and Micayla Livingston each had one.

Dayton hits the road for the first time since the season opener, traveling to the Steel City to take on Pittsburgh on Sunday at 1 p.m.
