Dayton looks to break a six-game losing skid in a pair of non-conference games this week against Bowling Green and Wittenberg. The Flyers will take to the road to face the Falcons on Tuesday at 3 p.m. ET. UD then returns home to play host to the Tigers on Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET. Junior Sean Finn will take to the mound for the Flyers on Tuesday at Bowling Green for his team-high seventh start of the season. Finn had his best performance of the season in his last non-conference start against Findlay. The righthander had the fifi rst complete game outing of his career with seven strikeouts and just three runs allowed on three hits in a 13-3 victory over the Oilers. Overall this season, Finn has a 1-1 record with a 5.13 ERA and 25 strikeouts in 33.1 innings pitched while holding the opposition to a .289 batting average against him.
Freshman Tim Corbey is slated to take the mound against the Tigers on Wednesday at Time Warner Cable Stadium in his second career start. His fifi rst career start came in his collegiate debut when he allowed one run on two hits over 2.1 innings pitched against Valparaiso in the fifi nale of a doubleheader on March 16. He has made three appearances overall this season with his last coming on Saturday in the second game of the twinbill at St. Bonaventure. The righty surrendered only one run on four hits over 4.0 innings pitched against the Bonnies.
Senior Kevin Miller has continued to shine offensively for Dayton in the ninth spot in the lineup. He leads the team with a .346 batting average and is among the A-10 leaders with a .455 on base percentage as well as sacrifice bunts andsacrifice flies with three each. His 17 walks lead the team while his 18 RBI is third best on the squad.
Wednesday's meeting with Wittenberg will begin a stretch of fifi ve out of six games played at Time Warner Cable Stadium for the Flyers. UD will play host to Saint Joseph's in a three-game Atlantic 10 set this weekend before traveling to take on Urbana at Athletes in Action Field in Xenia, Ohio. Dayton will then return home to face backyard rival Wright State on April 16.
