LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Dayton women’s cross country team finished 8th out of 27 teams in the 6K Black Race of the 2012 NCAA Pre-Nationals hosted by University of Louisville Saturday at E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park Saturday.
The Flyers had 226 point and were edged by Toledo who took 7th with 225. Utah Valley won the race with 154 points, followed closely by West Virginia (157) in second. South Carolina (186) was third, Utah Valley (188) was fourth, Furman (189) fifth and Central Michigan sixth with 206.
Junior Lizzie Gleason was UD’s top finisher in 5th with a time of 21:26.5. Junior Nicole Cargill was Dayton’s second placer in 17th in a time of 21:54.9. Junior Sarah Reynolds was next for UD in 66th in a time of 22:41.3. Sophomore Mary List was not far behind, crossing the line in 68th for the Flyers in a time of 23:42.4. Freshman Olivia Albers rounded out the scoring for the Flyers in 70th in a time of 22:47.1.
Also for Dayton, senior Marisa Slomski turned in a time of 22:51.8; freshman Arden Burch finished in 23:16.5; sophomore Salena Clohisy ran it in 23:20.4; sophomore Katie Ollier in 23:23.6; and sophomore Megan Collins in 23:49.1.
The Flyers are back in action Saturday, Oct. 27 at the A-10 Championships in Philadelphia.
