NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Atlantic 10 Conference released its 2015 Women's Indoor Track and Field Academic All-Conference teams on Tuesday and recognized a pair of Flyers.

Rebecca Maj and
Chelsea VanHook were two of the 10 honorees, tying the most for any school this year.
Maj is a native of North Canton, Ohio, and a mechanical engineering major at UD. The senior combined events performer earned her first gold medal at the 2015 A-10 Indoor Championships in the high jump with a mark of 1.73m. That mark was a new personal record and the second best height in Dayton Track & Field history. Maj also posted the best high jump mark in the A-10 this season.
VanHook is an international studies major with a 3.988 GPA and a veteran distance runner for the Flyers. The Mason, Ohio native already has numerous Top 5 all-time marks at Dayton, including a school record in the 600m and 4x800m relay. This season, VanHook finished sixth at the A-10 Indoor Championships in the 800m and eighth in the 4x800m relay. During the indoor season, she competed in the 400m, 800m, 4x400m, 4x800m, and distance medley relay events, posting Top 10 finishes on eight separate occasions.
Maj and VanHook are the two honorees for Dayton, and tie the Flyers with George Mason and Massachusetts with the most in the conference.
The Flyers will open up the outdoor season this weekend at the Oliver Nikoloff Invitational at the University of Cincinnati on Friday.
