ALL-OHIO CHAMPIONSHIPS BEGIN FOR DAYTON TRACK & FIELD

Day 1 Results

OXFORD, Ohio – The University of Dayton women's track and field team began competition at the 2015 All-Ohio Championships on Friday.

The meet took place on the campus of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, just southwest of Dayton.

The hammer throw was an outstanding event for Dayton as senior Aly Weeman finished second overall with a mark of 56.54m and freshman Erin Reese had a career best performance, finishing ninth and recording a throw of 52.55m. That is second in the Atlantic 10 this season and the fifth-best mark in school history. Senior Miranda Nelson finished 12th in the event as well.

In the long jump, junior Sydney Riethman finished sixth with a mark of 5.20m, earning three points for the Flyers.

Through four events in the heptathlon, senior Katy Garcia currently sits in seventh place with 2511 points.

The Flyers will finish up the All-Ohio meet on Saturday starting at 10 a.m. Events are expected to be completed by 5:30 p.m.
