Pat Meehan was named as a team captain for the Dayton baseball program on Tuesday. Meehan becomes the fourth player named as a captain for the 2018 season, joining
Connor Echols,
Brandon Smith and
Austin Cline as players also being bestowed with the title.

Meehan has been a leader both on and off the diamond this season. He leads the team in home runs (4), as well as runs scored (13) and ranks second on the team in batting average (.292) and RBIs (14). He was also named to the Spartanburg Opening Weekend All-Tournament Team after hitting 7-13 (.538) with two home runs and three runs batted in across Dayton's first three games this season.

Dayton baseball will host four games at Woerner Field this week, including a game against Wright State on March 28 at 3 p.m. and a three-game series against George Washington this weekend.
