DAYTON -- The University of Dayton football program will host the 21st Annual Tony Ernst Memorial Golf Outing at the Golf Club at Yankee Trace near Dayton on Friday, June 17. 

Ernst, a former quarterback who wore No. 6 and was a 1995 UD graduate, passed away unexpectedly just a few years after his graduation. As a tribute to his spirit and character, the Ernst Family established the Tony Ernst Football Coaching Internship Position in 1999. The position is funded by the annual memorial golf tournament.

Since the establishment of the Tony Ernst Football Coaching Position, approximately $300,000 has been raised.

This year's event will recognize the 1987 team that finished the NCAA Division III national runners-up.
