NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - University of Dayton freshman baseball player Eddie Yamin IV was named the Atlantic 10's Rookie of the Week the league office announced Wednesday, March 8.

Yamin was a menace to Eastern Illinois pitching during the #FlyBoys home-opening series, slugging three extra-base hits including his first career home run. 

During Dayton's second game against the Panthers, Yamin left the yard as part of back-to-back-to-back homers in the third inning, and then picked the perfect time to launch his second of the season four innings later.

With the Flyers trailing 6-5 and a man on first, Yamin deposited his second homer of the game beyond the left field fence to put UD back on top 7-6. Dayton held on to that lead for the second win of the season.
