McNally, Bailitz Earn CollegeAdvantage Student-Athlete Of The Week Honors

Dayton Student-Athletes Will Be Recognized Throughout the School Year

DAYTON - University of Dayton men's tennis freshman Kyle McNally and softball graduate student Sarah Bailitz have been named the Ohio's CollegeAdvantage Student-Athletes of the Week. These awards are for contests held April 8-14.

McNally had perhaps his most dominant week yet, losing just four sets over three matches en route to three wins for the Flyers. The Algonquin, Ill., native defeated Duquesne, 6-0, 6-3, then dispatched St. Bonaventure's No. 3 in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0. McNally wrapped the weekend with a 6-0, 6-1 win against Kentucky Wesleyan. The freshman teamed with Ronit Hiryur on the week to go 1-1 in doubles. McNally finished the regular season with a perfect 5-0 record in Atlantic 10 action.

Bailitz (1-1) posted a 0.40 ERA allowing just one earned run over 17.1 innings pitched in four appearances for the Flyers. In Wednesday's first game against Akron, she worked 6.0 innings with six strikeouts, just one off her season high. Bailitz, who hails from Arlington Heights, Illinois, saw action in all three games at Fordham over the weekend, combining on two-consecutive shutouts. In Sunday's 5-0 win for the Flyers, she threw 6.0 innings of scoreless ball recording four strikeouts along the way.
