WASHINGTON, D.C. – Four University of Dayton baseball student-athletes were honored by the Atlantic 10 Conference with postseason awards, highlighted by sophomore
Michael DiMartini being named First Team All-Atlantic 10, the league office announced on Wednesday morning.
In addition to DiMartini, freshmen
Rylan Lujo and
Ty Mainolfi earned spots on the All-Rookie team, and junior
Dyrenson Wouters was named to the All-Academic team.

DiMartini has put together one of the top seasons in program history this year, leading the A-10 in average (.417), total hits (95), total bases (162), and triples (7), while also being top 10 in stolen bases (2nd – 37), runs scored (4th – 69), on-base percentage (6th – .477), runs driven in (7th – 63), and home runs (9th – 14).

Lujo, who started every game for the Flyers, ranked third in the league in hits (85) and eighth in batting average (.366), and led all Atlantic 10 freshmen in hits, doubles (16), runs scored (52), and average. The Coconut Creek, Fla. native won Rookie of the Week three times during the season, and also finished top five amongst freshmen in stolen bases (17), RBI (54), and home runs (9).

Mainolfi had a strong rookie campaign with a slash line of .313/.486/.412, hitting seven home runs and eight doubles. The Staten Island, N.Y. native also swiped 14 bases, scored 43 runs, drove in 32, and played strong defense at second base.

Wouters earned a nod to the All-Academic team, marking back-to-back seasons that the Flyers have had a student-athlete named to the team. The junior hit .390 on the season while reaching base at a .466 clip, hitting 12 doubles and five home runs. Wouters also scored 38 times and drove in 32 more while bringing elite defense to the shortstop position. The A-10 All-Academic team is reserved for student-athletes who are above sophomore eligibility and are a significant contributor to the team with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
