DAYTON—The University of Dayton track and field team will conclude a strong 2026 outdoor campaign this weekend, May 2 and 3, in Fairfax, Va., at the Atlantic Ten Outdoor Championships. The Flyers hope to once again be in the running for a team title after their third-place finish at the indoor championships in March.
START TIME
- The championships start with the heptathlon 100m hurdles on Saturday at 11:15 a.m. Field events will start at 12:30 p.m. with the hammer throw, and running events get underway at 2:30 p.m. with the prelims of the 1500m.
- Day two multi-event action starts at 10 a.m. with the long jump before the shot put starts action in the field at 10:30 a.m. The 4x100m will be the first event on the track at 11 a.m.

SEASON HIGHLIGHTS
- Senior Raegan Ernst etched her name into the record books multiple times during her senior season. She broke the school record in the 100m hurdles three times on the season, posting a personal record of 13.97.
- Senior Jadyn Haywood has had a season befitting her historic career. Twice, she broke her own school record in the 200m and recorded six top-five finishes, two of which were wins.
- The 4x100m record fell twice this season, at both Kennesaw State and Louisville. The team of Chloe Hamilton, Simone Bessong, and Sydney Workman currently has the record of 45.30.
- Freshman Simone Bessong carried over her strong debut campaign from indoor, recording the third-best 200m time in school history of 24.04.
- Sophomore Mia Gill ran her way into the record books in the 800m, recording the third fastest time in school history of 2:11.12.
- Senior Rebekah Conrad was a PR machine in the throws events, recording eight PRs on the season, which led to seven top-five finishes and one finish atop the podium.
FLYERS IN ACTION
As the Flyers enter the weekend with medal hopes, several athletes sit near the top of the conference rankings.
Four Flyers enter the 100m ranked in the top ten of the conference.
Jadyn Haywood holds the top spot while two freshmen,
Chloe Hamilton and
Simone Bessong, are ranked fifth and seventh, respectively.
Sydney Workman will also compete in the 100m as she currently has the 11th-fastest time in the conference.
Haywood, Bessong, and Workman will also toe the line in the 200m, all ranked in the top five. Once again, Haywood has the top time in the conference this year. Bessong ranks third, and Workman will be eyeing a big medal finish from the fifth spot.
Raegan Ernst and
Jameson Pillifant will both compete in the hurdles events. Pillifant enters ranked second in the 400m hurdles and seventh in the 100m hurdles.
In the throws events,
Rebekah Conrad comes into the weekend ranked fifth in the shot put, seventh in the discus, and fourth in the hammer throw.
Maggie Hofner also eyes a medal in the discus as she is ranked third.
In the high jump, indoor champion
Camryn Thompson is currently ranked fourth in the A-10 and will be aiming for a medal.
Mia Malito is right behind her in sixth, also with medal ambitions.
Marissa Pritchett is ranked third in the 10k and will be in position to earn an A-10 medal on Saturday. Also on the distance side,
Mia Gill will be shooting for a big result, as she is currently ninth in the 800m.
