ALLY MALOTT-McCARTHY – Basketball 2011-2015
Ally Malott-McCarthy was UD women's basketball's first McDonald's High School All-American, and while her path to UD was different than teammate Andrea Hoover, their journey together led to championships, the WNBA and now the UD Hall of Fame.
Malott ended her collegiate career seventh in career scoring (1,504 points) and eighth in career rebounding (824). She averaged 11.8 points and 6.5 rebounds in her four seasons, leading the team in rebounding in her last three. She also finished seventh in career blocked shots (104).
She helped lead the Flyers to heights they had never achieved before, reaching the Elite Eight in 2015 with wins over Iowa State, Kentucky and Louisville before falling to UConn. She played on four NCAA teams and was part of the class with the most NCAA tournament wins (4).
Ally is the Operations Director at the Atrium Family YMCA in Middletown, Ohio. She and her husband Andy were married in September, and they live in Middletown.
