ERIN TREADWAY HAZELBAKER - Volleyball 2001-03

One of the most complete student-athletes in the history of the University of Dayton, Erin Treadway Hazelbaker was a trailblazer on and off the court.

She earned the trifecta of Atlantic 10 Player of the Year, A-10 Tournament Most Outstanding Performer, and A-10 Student-Athlete of the Year in volleyball as a senior in 2003.

Treadway is the only A-10 student-athlete to take all three honors in any sport. In addition, she was the first UD player to win A-10 Player of the Year in any sport, and the first of five UD volleyball players to be named tournament MVP.

A graduate of Chaminade-Julienne High School in Dayton, she was the top player on the first UD team to play in the NCAA tournament and also the first to receive votes in the final AVCA national poll.  That 2003 team finished 26-10 and advanced to the NCAA Second Round with an upset win over Michigan State in East Lansing.

Treadway was a two-time First Team All-Atlantic 10, A-10 All-Tournament Team and ACVA All-Region. She was an AVCA Honorable Mention All-American as a senior.

She finished her career third and is currently eighth in career kills (1,233) at UD, and her 542 kills in 2003 are the fourth-best single-season mark at UD.  She played three seasons at Dayton after transferring from Ohio State. After graduation, she earned NCAA and Atlantic 10 Post-Graduate Scholarships.

She now lives in Hebron, Ky, with her husband, former UD baseball player Brooks Hazelbaker.
