SAMUEL HIPA - Men's Basketball, Football, Track, and Baseball - 1924-1928
 

Sam Hipa was born on October 12, 1900 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Sam was known as a great athlete it was jokingly said that if there was an archery team he would have been on it. He was a four year letterman in football, baseball, basketball, and track. In 1927 he was named the captain of the basketball team. Sam was a Civil Engineer major who graduated with the status of Second Lieut. Inf. Res. with Sodality honors. 

After UD Hipa played professional football for the Dayton Triangles as a defensive end in 1927 and ’28. He started one game in 1927 and four games in 1928 for the Triangles.
