KAREN KAZMAIER MCCORKLE - Women's Soccer - 1985-1987

Karen Kazmaier McCorkle is the first UD’s women soccer player to be inducted into the University of Dayton Athletic Hall of Fame on January 27, 1996. She joined the UD women’s soccer program in 1985, when the program was in only its second varsity season and immediately made an impact.  She was a key figure in UD’s 1986 season when it first burst on the national scene. She set the school record with 30 goals that season and scored a school-record 66 points. The Flyers went 16-5-1 that season with wins over nationally ranked Texas A&M and Radford. UD received its first national ranking that season, finishing 18th in the country. The 30 goals and 66 points are school records by a wide margin. The # 2 goal total is 16, also by her, and the point total is 39.  Karen holds four school records including most goals in career (52) and points in career (112). UD was 53-21-6 in her three seasons.

McCorkle now lives in Springfield, Ohio and teaches in the Sugarcreek School system.
