DAVE JONES – Football 1984-87
Named a 1987 All-American, Dave Jones used the greatest single season by a Dayton running back to lead the Flyers to the NCAA Division III national championship game.

Jones set UD single-season records for rushing yards (1,803), rushing attempts (363) points (160) and touchdowns (26, tie).  Nearly a third of those yards came in a four-game playoff run, including a 219-yard performance in the 38-36 win over Augustana that snapped Augie's 60-game unbeaten streak.

A three-year letterwinner, Jones played on teams that were a combined 38-8.  Three of those losses were to the eventual national champion, including 19-3 to Wagner in the 1987 Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl.

Career-wise, Jones' 14 games of 100 yards (or more) rushing is the Dayton record, tying him with Connor Kacsor and Jake Chisholm.  Jones is also fifth in career scoring with 250 points and sixth in career rushing with 2,684 yards.
