TOM MURPHY – Men's Tennis 2003-07

Tom Murphy is the most decorated men's tennis player in University of Dayton history.

He was a four-time All-Atlantic 10 selection and is the only Flyer student-athlete to be selected All A-10 four times in any sport. At the time of his graduation in 2007, he was only seventh A-10 student-athlete to be all-conference four times.

He was also named the A-10 Rookie of the Year as a freshman in 2004, UD's first, and to date, only Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year in men's tennis.

Murphy played both No. 1 and No. 2 singles as a freshman and then played No. 1 for the rest of his career. He also played on the Flyer No. 1 doubles team all four years at UD.

The Carmel, Ind. native finished his four years at Dayton with a career record of 92-39 in singles and 82-47 in doubles. As a senior, he was 26-6 in singles and 18-4 in doubles. He holds the UD career and single-season records in wins.

During Murphy's four seasons, the Flyers finished fifth in the Atlantic 10 in 2004, second in 2005 (best finish in school history), third in 2006, and sixth in 2007.

Murphy served as team captain as a senior.
