DR. GEORGE J. RAU - Administration - 1949-1972

Dr. Rau was the UD basketball team physician from 1949-72.  

Dr. George Rau Spirit Award is given annually to a UD player who best displays true team spirit, both on and off the court.  It is named for Dr. George Rau, better known around UD as “Pete” Rau, who was the UD team physician for more than 20 years prior to his death in 1972.
