Stanley R. Corbett was born on September 4, 1911 in Cincinnati, Ohio. While at UD, he was a standout in basketball, football, and baseball but chose to further his baseball career after UD. 

He was a right handed pitcher and spent 8 seasons playing minor league baseball. He made it as high as AA. He finished his minor league career with a record of 92-99 with an ERA of 3.76. Although he was not drafted as a hitter, Corbett managed to slug out one home run over his eight year career with five different teams.
