BROTHER RAYMOND L. FITZ, S.M

Brother Fitz was born and raised in the Akron Suburb of Cuyahoga Falls and was the oldest of six children. While Brother Fitz was in charge the school’s budget quadrupled, enrollment increased six percent, and the endowment increased from 7.7 million dollars to 275 million dollars.
Everything flourished under Brother Fitz’s watch including athletics. Like other Marianist Brother Fitz took a vow of poverty giving all but $11,200 of his salary to charity. Brother Fitz was truly a great man and one of the most influential administrators UD has ever had, the university will never forget all he has done for it. Brother Fitz embodied the phrase “Learn, Lead, Serve.”
