JIM CURRIN - Football - 1949-1953

Jim Currin was born on November 12, 1929. He was born in Cincinnati Ohio and went to Walter Barlett High School. He was a star tight end for the University of Dayton football team. He gave the team a spark on offense. He was a very dynamic player for the Dayton Flyer’s and achieved high record numbers on offense. He holds the record for most TD’s in a season (9) and most points scored in a season (54). He graduated with a Bachelors degree in Education.

Upon graduation he was drafted in the 16th round by the Baltimore Colts. He never played a game in the NFL but Jim was still given the honor of being one of the few Dayton players to make it to the NFL.
