DOUG HAUSCHILD - Administration 1978-2025
Doug Hauschild retired from the University of Dayton as a full-time employee in July after nearly 47 years working in the UD sports information/athletics communications office (43 as a full-time employee). In his time at Dayton, Hauschild was primarily the media contact for Flyer football and men's basketball. Â
He was inducted into the College Sports Communicators (formerly known as the College Sports Information Directors of America) Hall of Fame in 2020. Â Hauschild was presented the CoSIDA 25-Year Award in 2008 and received the Bob Kenworthy Award for his community service at the 2009 CoSIDA Convention. He has also served on the CoSIDA Academic All-America Committee since 1993 and earned the Lester Jordan Award for service to the Academic All-America program in 2021.
He is the only person to earn all four of those honors.
During his 43 years as a full-time sports professional, the Dayton Athletics Communications Office had 61 student workers go on to work in college and professional athletics after graduation.
Hauschild has worked 120 NCAA men's basketball tournament games at UD Arena, the last 100 serving as Media Coordinator.
Doug continues to work part-time for the Flyers as the Athletics Historian and Director of Special Projects.
