BOB KAVANAUGH - Men's Basketball and Baseball - 1938-1942
Bob Kavanaugh was known for setting records as he helped blaze the basketball trail for the University of Dayton. One of his more outstanding accomplishments was starting in every game from 1939-1942 while leading the team in scoring every season. The Education major from Springfield OH scored 635 career points while at UD, set records of 242 points in one season and 30 points in one game making him, according to Chris Montgomery of Flyer News, Feb. 11, 1977, “the most prolific scorer in UD history up until the time he played for the Flyers.”
