REV. RAYMOND ROESCH - Administrator - 1959-1979
While at the University of Dayton Rev. Raymond Roesch was the UD administrator and President from 1959 to 1979. He broke ground to built UD Arena in 1969. The initial plans for the Arena cost 4.5 million, the arena first collapsed during its initial construction. He was a member of the Dayton Family for more than 30 years upon his graduation.
After Rev. Raymond Roesch’s time at UD he went on to become the President of Dayton’s sister School Chaminade University in Hawaii from 1982 to 1989. He later returned back to Dayton in 1989 to work as a special assistant to Brother Raymond A. Fitz. He passed away on July 8th of 1991 at the age of 76. After his passing the University of Dayton named a position in his honor as a chair in the Social Sciences Department.
