PATRICK OBIAYA - Men's Soccer - 1966-1969

Making an impact for the Flyers almost immediately after his arrival on campus, Pat did a great deal to impress people both on and off the field.  Obiaya holds numerous records in the Flyer record books.  His most impressive single game feat is when he scored an unheard of 7 goals versus Big East powerhouse Notre Dame.  This mark tied him for first all time for most goals in a single game.  In addition to his single game numbers, Obiaya was a consistent player throughout the season.  He holds his place high atop the record books with 35 goals in on season (3rd all time), 1.842 goals per game (1st all time) and 70 points (6th all time).  Going along with his impressive numbers, Obiaya was named “All-Ohio First Team” in 1966 along with “Second Team All-American.”

After his time at UD Obiaya went on to pursue a career on a different field, the field of medicine.  It was after Dayton that he received his doctorate in medicine and now is known as Pat Obiaya M.D.
